Jaime Intile, Wellness Entrepreneur & Chronic Lyme Patient
For Jaime, things started in 2016 with a dog bite that activated dormant Lyme and caused a complete breakdown of her immune system. She had to step away from her career and spent the next few years trying to figure out what was happening, despite numerous setbacks and worsening symptoms along the way. She chose a holistic approach to treatment, avoiding antibiotics in favor of herbal and alternative modalities. After intensive treatment and countless consultations, Jaime eventually found a doctor who helped her make significant strides toward recovery.
Kevin Williams, Former Journalist, Tech Entrepreneur & Chronic Lyme Patient
For Kevin, his symptoms started back in 2007, and came on fairly gradually. He was in great shape and really active at the time. It began with cramping in the palms of his hands and soles of his feet, then progressed to migratory muscle pains, mostly in his legs to start. His knee started to give out for no reason and all of the sudden he couldn’t catch his breath when exerting himself. From there, he started to get worsening GI symptoms — premature fullness, bloating, upset stomach — and a knot below his sternum which inhibited his breathing, along with consistent muscle pain, especially in his hands, legs and neck. Over time, neurological symptoms started to appear, with bilateral inner ear dysfunction, heavy brain fog, processing and memory issues, eye floaters and blurriness, mood swings (especially feelings of rage) and dizziness. At its worst he had difficulty walking. Through it all, his energy levels were non-existent and the smallest chores seemed beyond him. It wasn’t until 2017 that he was diagnosed with Lyme and co-infections.
