Join us for a conversation about the latest research on tick-borne pathogens, trends in tick populations in New England and beyond, tick safety, and more with Paul Killinger of TickReport™. TickReport’s mission is “to provide a professional tick testing service to public individuals and agencies seeking more information about the risk of dangerous tick-borne pathogens.” They also host a Tick-borne Disease Passive Surveillance Database to further research and access to data about ticks and the diseases they carry.
About:
Paul Killinger has directed education and outreach efforts for the TickReport testing service since 2018. While much of their research and service is focused close to home in Western Massachusetts, the TickReport lab regularly tests ticks from more than twenty countries across six continents. The lab’s approach to passive surveillance of ticks and tick bites provides valuable insight on the seasonal activity of ticks, as well as the geographic distribution of tick species and pathogens.
